Food safety & eLearning redefined
As experienced face-to-face trainers in food safety, when we decided to make the move into offering our products by eLearning our initial research into the field left us rather underwhelmed.
What we expected to find were people delivering great insightful, easy to use food safety training products using the natural flexibility of the web. What we actually found was CDROM training with a mixture of voice-over artists reading material while you watched a few cartoons. No help, no support, no downloadable goodies to help you implement the learning. It was time to rethink eLearning...
The Safer Food System
The Safer Food System is the result of more than two years work to reinvent eLearning in Food Safety from the ground up. Together with Tribal Media, experienced web developers and eLearning specialists, we have developed a new approach to online learning, basing our system on the ways people actually like to learn (known as learning styles), and other modern but proven approaches to delivering knowledge and change.
Using extensive video, we film on-location and in-studio, and personally present and support all products ourselves, no actors or voice over artists. Everything is researched, delivered and supported by real subject experts, sharing insider insights, tips and techniques.

East GB Ltd are food training and food systems experts delivering nationwide training. Using eLearning and face-to-face training products, we help food and drink businesses from across the UK and mainland Europe and are an accredited centre with The Royal Society for the Promotion of Health and provide qualifications in Food Safety level 2, Food Safety level 3, and Advanced Food Safety Level 4.
Nick (Nick Eastwood) and I have been involved in the complete food production cycle and food chain, from the field right through to the table. We've been involved in launch of major new food products with production and supply chains that have spanned the globe. Importantly for the Safer Food System, we have extensive experience in food businesses and food manufacturing, where HACCP based Food Safety Management Systems have been in continuous use for 25 years or more.
